YouTube has appointed Chris Di Cesare as its first director of marketing.
Formerly director of creative marketing at Microsoft, Di Cesare will report directly to Chad Huley, co-founder of YouTube.
The marketing executive moved to the video-sharing site two months ago having spent 12 years at Microsoft, but the move has only just been made public.
At Microsoft Di Cesare was key to the launch of the Xbox, Xbox 360 and Halo 3.
YouTube, which was acquired by Google in October 2006, was named in September as one of the top ten coolest brands in the UK by the annual Cool Brands poll (NMA, 20.09.07). (from NMA)
Oh goody, now they might be successful. *tongue in cheek*
