User Generated Content – or Knowledge, Wiki Style

Wikis are community driven knowlege sites, where the FAQs and information articles are written and edited by hyper-users. These are a few that caught my eye:

Marxism, The anti capitalist wiki

Welcome to the Matrix, an anti-capitalist database, library and resource center on corporations, the anti-capitalist movement, and popular campaigns against capitalism. We invite you to join this open project and contribute information using this wiki software. Remember ‘the Earth is not dying, it is being murdered and the people murdering it have names and addresses’ — British EF!, seen in ‘DiY Culture: Party and Protest in Nineties Britain (Verso)

There’s a tonne of wiki Fan Sites around TV. My fave? Wookiepedia – wiki, Star Wars style.

Anyway theres a fair few wikis at Wikia, the old Wikia Cities site, so if you have a penchant or a passion, head over there. Create your own. Discuss. Got wiki?

…or head to UNcyclopedia for a content-free experience. Hopefully the hackers and trolls will all be there too!

  1. I think that this project will be developed and completed. I think that will be a good encyclopedia. This encyclopedia will be a reference book of many students.
