This is step by step how to have artificial intelligence create a slide presentation (Powerpoint) with ChatGPT (CoPIlot is ChatGPT inside Microsoft 365).

CHATGPT/CoPilot: For the Public Presenters and Keynote people in my Faceybookz. This video is for marketing and comms people wanting to create a slide presentation with artificial intelligence. I’m using Ms Powerpoint CoPilot (ChatGPT with a fancy name) to create images and text and Speaker Notes on a presentation.

Also for Public speakers keynote presenters and so on.

  • 1. sign up for Microsoft 365 (individual/family = CoPilot Pro or Business /Enterprise = CoPilot) see my previous video if you haven’t already
  • 2. Signup for Copilot (see previous video if you haven’t already)
  • 3. Go to the left, launch Powerpoint
  • 4. Go to the top and create new.
  • 5. Before doing anything else, click the coPilot button (top right).
  • 6. Prompt ChatGPT
  • 7. Review images (edit in Designer) and slides.

Hello, my name is Laurel Papworth, and today I’m going to show you how to create a PowerPoint presentation using ChatGPT, LLM copilot. And I’m doing this video because I’m supposed to be going out to exercise. And so I had a choice of either exercising or making a video, and I chose making a video. Let me know after you’ve watched the video, did I make the right decision?

Anyway, let’s get started. Your girl is double-mic’d today because I’ve had a lot of errors in the past. And let’s move over here. I’m on https://office.com I’m inside PowerPoint on the left-hand side. I click Blank Presentation, and it’s now loading up a blank presentation for me. Once that done, I click Copilot, which is ChatGPT, and I wait for the recommendations to come in. So I wanted to create a presentation. I don’t want to upload a file and have it learn from the file. I don’t want a single slide. I need a presentation. And I’ve said, “create a presentation on the key points of learning about LLMs for marketing professionals as a target audience. For example, social media posts…” Blah, blah, blah, blah. And then I click Send.

And now it’s working on a response. It takes a little time. It’s using the API. So it’s going from the Microsoft or my SharePoint on Microsoft servers and running across to the ChatGPT, doing the handshake, posting the request, getting the response, and coming back. Here we go. I did hear the other day that Gemini (Pro or Bard) is super fast, so that’s interesting. Let’s put a video in this one, Leveraging the power of LLMs in marketing. I’ve got a checklist, Identify your target audience, identify your marketing goals. So it hasn’t actually followed my few-shot prompting of what it is that I want, but it has done it in the next slide. It has done it in the next slide. So we have example, social media posts using AI. Example, they can use blog titles and it’s generated these images. I’m not sure where they come from. I think it’s generated. All right, yes. So we have to go into Designer to fix it. News flash, Bing Create, which used to have Powered by DALL-E 3, which is ChatGPT, OpenAI’s DALL-E 3, underneath it is now called Image Designer. And the designer part is the full on editing images, like an Adobe type of service, I guess.

Let me get out of the way. Example sentiment, personalised email marketing using copilot, add copy and CTA. So it’s added a few more. So I can go in, I can change the topic. Let’s have a look. It says here you go, a seven-slide presentation for marketing professionals has been created. And I could say in here, please simplify the language. So that’s using voice. And I could also ask for it to change the style and do some tables and different kinds of templates. Notice that we have whisper AI, which is the ability to speak into PowerPoint to have it done. And then I can see the actual prompts. Now, what there should be, yes, it’s actually written the speaker notes as well so that the person giving the presentation will have some assistance and can edit the speaker notes.

I’m going to suggest that you take this with a grain of salt. I think the way we see it at the beginning of February 2024 will not be how it will be at the middle of the year or the end of the year. I’m about to put a video together on how to do custom instructions, including your hex colours, if I can figure it out. I’ve been in the admin panel and custom instruction seems to be something that’s attached to what they’re calling copilots, which I think are custom GPTs. Let’s not go there. Just getting everything sorted out. As I learn things, you will learn things.

So that’s how I did a PowerPoint presentation without too much structured prompting. I didn’t want to get too clever with it. I just wanted to ask it to give me a presentation. It gave me one with seven slides and a checklist and a bunch of slides on how to use ChatGPT and Copilot for marketing. I hope you found that useful.
