Setting up a Facebook Business Page Shop with Paypal and Stripe in Australia is not fully available yet – but you can prepare! #Facebook #Australia

Dear Students Of My Facebook Course – I just want to put something out there publicly as there’s been discussion on it online. Facebook Co HAS Paypal and Stripe for the Facebook Business Page Shops but currently only for US Facebook Pages. If you see it implemented here in Australia, let me know? And ditto for me to let you know. BTW 3,000,000+ shops on Facebook Pages already. I did hear you can’t post non-physical products e.g. services or digital products in the store but I’ve looked everywhere in Facebook Help and can’t verify the “physical product only” rumour.

Please note: I am not talking about 3rd party apps like Shopify. This is a Facebook Shop app built into the Facebook Business Page framework. [Ed: Facebook has partnered with Shopify, Big Commerce and WooCommerce.]

In the meantime: Here’s a video on how to set up the shop and link it to your own website with your own shopping cart or Paypal on your blog/website. You know what I mean.

It’ll be interesting to see conversion on-Facebook vs off-Facebook. I’m thinking that quick purchases will go “viral” but products that need a big explanation or landing pages not so much. Meh as always it will depend, I better wait and see.

From Facebook Help

US Pages may have these shop section features:

  • Add products and product information. There’s no need to have a product catalog uploaded anywhere beforehand, and no cap on how many products you can add. Learn how.
  • Curate and customize your shop’s product inventory. You can divide your products into different collections. Learn how.
  • Sell directly from your Page. Once your products are added, your customers can browse and buy them on any device without having to leave your Page.
  • Manage orders. You can mark orders as shipped, cancel orders and refund orders without leaving your Page. Learn how.
  • Get insights. You can see how many views, clicks and purchases each product has, and how much money each product has made you. Learn how.

Non US Pages may have these shop section features (Ed: Australian Facebook Business Page shops)

  • Add products and product information. There’s no need to have a product catalog uploaded anywhere beforehand, and no cap on how many products you can upload. Learn how.

  • Feature your products. You can showcase several products.
  • Communicate with customers directly from your Page. Your customers can browse and message your Page to learn more and buy from you.
  • Get insights. You can see how many views and/or message sends you’ve received for each product. Learn how.

Students doing the live 2 Day Facebook Intensive in Sydney course next week will be able to set up a quick shop in anticipation of the changes (or if they are happy to link to their website checkout) if that is of interest to them.
