* Conference background and goals
The IADIS Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction (IHCI) 2009 conference aims to address the main issues of concern within Interface Culture and Design with a particular emphasis on the affective aspects of design, development and implementation of interfaces and the generational implications for
design of human and technology interaction. This conference aims to explore and discuss innovative studies of technology and its application in interfaces and welcomes research in progress, case studies, practical demonstrations and workshops in addition to the traditional submission categories.

Kinda odd to think I have readers in beautiful, far away, Portugal. Anyway, I think we’ll make it into a bit of a holiday. Take a few days and look around. What do you think?

I speak at a few conferences. I don’t consider myself a professional public speaker – no more than I am a professional blogger, it’s an aside from my main business – but I like public speaking. It gives me an audience for high level views of my ideas, forces me capture the essence of my thoughts in 40 minutes which in turn helps me to develop the concepts into 1/2 day, 1 day or 3 day workshops. Went off with Erietta and Jo S to The Sydney Institute tonight, and gosh! who would’ve thunk that journo’s would have a way with words??!!?? Great speakers, all 3 of ‘em. On November 5th, I wrote in Sydney Morning Herald’s Razor blog:Wiki collaborative efforts work beautifully. Telstra may indeed have plenty of smarties but even smart people get in a rut, going round and round and round. They may find that more viewpoints and input equals greater creativity of solutions. And if the “smarties” really had everything under control, they wouldn’t be facing the situation they have today, no?
