I glanced through the roll-call and pulled out the names that I know, either through my blog, through Twitter/Facebook, or people I have presented with at conferences before. So my question is this: do I go see my mates (aka above) or make a point of finding those speakers I haven’t had the pleasure of hearing before? Actually one of the people above attacked me from a podium once – I had just spoken on the potential of “social search” – for being a geek and “living in a basement, in the dark, with a PC”. Social search will never be as important as real search, apparently. (This was before Facebook, let alone Facebook profile-based ads). And he was going to give “practical” tips. Which ended up being about his company. I think I’ll ignore his presentation.

Or maybe I should just stay home once I’ve done my panel in the afternoon, Day One (Branding in Virtual Worlds) and write my lecture for Friday and prepare for my trip to Saudi at the end of the week? Or play World of Warcraft? Decisions Decisions :P

I’m supposed to be writing my presentation for Collaboration in the World of Web 2.0. Madam Kylie of Ark-group expected it from me yesterday. I’ve barely even started it. So I figured I’d write an ad for the event, post it up on bloggy and then say “No I haven’t finished the presentation, but I have posted the event up on my blog” and then smile winningly. *smiles mischievously* So here goes: I’m chairing a conference (that means I introduce the victims) at Collaboration in the World of Web 2.0. And I’m giving the closing presentation on: Minimising risks associated Continue Reading…
