Industry moves afoot, dear Watson!

My primary responsibilities will be writing reports, fielding client inquiries and delivering consulting engagements.

In my research, I will write for interactive marketing professionals in particular as well as marketing and strategy decision makers in general.

Research topics will range from the Australian interactive agency landscape through to the impact of social computing on marketing and business strategy.

While based in Australia and focused primarily on this market, I will work as part of a global team that examines and compares trends across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America.

Good ol’ Forresters (from AdWeek): NEW YORK The looming economic downturn will inevitably lead to a decrease in ad spending, but marketers are likely to continue shifting money into social media, according to a new study. According to the Forrester Research report, marketer moves into areas like word of mouth, blogging and social networking will withstand tightened budgets. In contrast, marketers are likely to decrease spending in traditional media and even online vehicles geared to building brand awareness.
