Yes of course it’s possible to have a conversation. People can leave comments on your blog – the Dine In version. Or they can comment in their own blog post, linking back to yours (Take Out or TakeAway). Or a mashup of the two, by commenting on an RSS feed about your blog. But it ain’t collaborative. I get more questions answered on Twitter, don’t like their attitude to discussion ( hint: turning off comments on corporate blogs and YouTube video channels grumps me out), and thought they were being smarty pants when Google said they would never get involved in social networks. The promptly turned around and got involved with Orkut and OpenId and recently OpenSocial.But Google Custom Search is kinda interesting re: social search and all might be forgiven. In Qui Custodiet Custodes, I commented on the program Media Watch losing relevance as the media bloggers swarm. Well today I went back to see how their forums were coming along. Not well. There’s very few threads and posts. The forums are over moderated and the online community seems to be destined to pat Media Watch on the back post each show.
