I was in Melbourne yesterday, giving the keynote at Glen Frost’s Frocomm New Media Summit conference. Great crowd, lots of thoughts flying around.

Basically I went through a few different types of social media networks – blog (content), wikis (collaboration) and so forth. I also included this video of RocketOn to show the Live Web

RocketOn – a layer over normal web pages so that Avatars can chat about the news and play with pixel branded products.

…and also made mention of non-media social networks such as social telecommunications and social banking. But really I quickly showed how various Government and public sector agencies were using social media for communication.

It was a fun conference – see some more here on Walter‘s blog and Alan Parker’s.
