“Top blog” is usually a combination of visitor stats (Alexa ratings for example), links in (people referencing the material the blogger creates) such as Technorati, social bookmarking such as Delicious and offline behaviour (famous, referenced as ‘expert’ by mainstream media, published author). This is often pulled together as semantic – “most helpful”, “most informative”, “most entertaining” “most humorous”.

Or it can just be a blogger you like. Darren wins on all these, I reckon

Hey Lauren,

Thanks for profiling one of the top bloggers out there. I enjoyed working with Darren on Name Your Dream Assignment, a contest aimed at photographers.

But I am curious. How do you measure “top”? Right, Darren is a doer and has tremendous influence. But does that make him top? Maybe. Is there a way to measure such influence objectively? Is such a measurement meaningful or worthwhile?
